Today we celebrate the 40th Anniversary Season WD40! MBT kicked off the season with Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ An Octoroon, named Best Play of 2016 by City Pages. Next was DJ Latinidad’s Latino Dance Party, a wholly original curated dance party of vignette stories created by award-winning Latino playwrights, DJs, composers, novelists and comedians. Mixed Blood closed the season with Philip Dawkins’ heartwarming play Charm, telling the story of a an African American trans woman in her 60’s who teaches an etiquette class to trans youth experiencing homelessness; MBT was proud to be the first theatre to produce Charm with 100% authenticity in casting.
We thank all of our tremendous artists, audiences and supporters for bringing WD40 to life! What was your favorite show of the season?
