Friends of Mixed Blood:

Please come celebrate with me at “Revelry: A Red-Tie Affair”, Mixed Blood’s 40th anniversary gala and/or after-party, set for May 14th at Paisley Park. …The Paisley Park. The one where Prince lives and sometimes wanders in unannounced and sits down at the purple piano.

This event is going to be SO FUN. There will be laughs. There will be amazing live performances by beloved MBT artists like Warren Bowles, Sanford Moore, Thomasina Petrus and Marquetta Senters. There will be celebrity pool (because what’s a formal gala without a pool table in the room). Gala tickets are $175-$275, and they include delicious food stations (soul food, Asian cuisine and Italian fare), drinks, a live and silent auction, and truly exceptional live entertainment (you know you don’t want to miss the glorious Ms Jevetta Steele in her element, along with several MBT artist luminaries).

If you come to the after-party, those tickets are $40. That’s it—$40, and it’s a dance party helmed by the totally wonderful, charming and crazy-skilled DJ Breakbeat Lou (you may have lost your mind on the dance floor to his spinning for DJ Latinidad…), who knows how to jack up a room like no one I’ve ever seen–there’s a bunch of snacks, a full bar, and some games with great prizes like good wine, gift cards to restaurants and some fun summer adventures.

On top of it, you’re supporting Mixed Blood Theatre, my home for these past five years, and a company more genuinely rooted in its mission to pursue social justice through the arts than any I will know again.

One of MBT’s core values is a commitment to being “predictably unpredictable”, and this night is as close to that as it gets. Who knows what the evening will hold? Come out, check Prince’s house off your bucket list, show your support for the ideals and work of Mixed Blood Theatre, and party with us to celebrate 40 more years.

TICKETS ARE HERE.

If you can’t come, or aren’t able to be there, would you consider putting in a quick plug on social media for the evening? Tickets are going quickly now, and they’re limited. Thanks for every moment of your support and love in my time at Mixed Blood; I’m going to love this company forever, and your encouragement and joy in the work is one of the reasons.

With gratitude and love,
Amanda White Thietje
